Well, I certainly experienced f/s corruption when I compiled with RH's gcc
2.96-81, which went away when I recompiled with 2.91-66.

You might be better off using a later XFS kernel from the CVS, but at this
stage, I'd still be very leery of putting the f/s on a co-lo box 400 miles
away... especially with VIA hardware, which is known to be broken in
various ways (refer to Alan Cox, Andre Hedrick and Ingo Molnar's comments
on this issue on linux-kernel etc.)
