Were you using the slackware install disks from
ftp.chowhouse.com/pub/xfs ?  I found that if you have more than one xfs
partition the install scripts don't work right.  You have to run mkfs.xfs
by hand and then mount the partition in the appropriate place.  If the
partition isn't mounted then your /etc/fstab won't be created correctly.

Also remember to use the kernel from the bootdisk after installing the
software.  Once everything is installed you need to compile your own
kernel after installing the XFS source somewhere.
