xfsrestore and inode number/generation

When recovering a filesystem using xfsrestore, is there no way to preserve
the inode number & generation for restored files?

If not, then users of DMAPI need to be aware that DM handles (which are
based at least partly on these values) are likely to change when a system
is restored from backup.
