I'm going to be working on a file system driver to be mounted on top of XFS,
and I have been attempting to figure out whether or not my source code will
need to be open or if it can remain proprietary? It will be original work,
and no changes will be made to existing GPLed code, but I know there are
differing opinions on whether adding a kernel module is considered
"changing" the kernel. Perhaps you can share some insight on similar issues
with XFS?

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
James
