Hi all,

Maybe I'm just stupid for even trying it yet, but 2.4.11 seems to get to the
stage between 'Mounting local filesystems' and before 'Enabling swap space'
in rc.sysinit.

You can hear it mount the local filesystems (~1second disk activity) and it
prints "OK" on the screen but that's it. The filesystems must have been
mounted, because they required recovery.

Have been using xfs (on linux) since late march on this box (and since on 4
others) but I don't know how to a) drop into kdb b) drive it (assume similar
to gdb, which I've never got on with either :-)

If you need it, here's some info (if I've forgotten the bleeding obvious,
tell me :-)

Software info:
Machine is RedHat 7.1 + glibc (and other bits) from 7.1.94
gcc-2.96-85

Hardware info:
AMD Athlon Slot A
384MB RAM
Asus K7V motherboard
IDE disc
IDE CD-RW (using ide-scsi)
floppy, riva TNT2 GC, Netgear NIC,
external: printer, palm cradle, 56k external modem.

dmesg from running 2.4.9 kernel (rebuilt last week, because I bought a new
graphics card):
