Hello,

Our company has been using Linux + XFS for several months now. I have
recently installed SGI's pre-release 0.10 on a test machine by using the ISO
image along with RedHat Wolverine disks. A problem I am seeing involves the
automounting of NIS mappings. With the previous 0.9 version, we were able to
mount NIS mapping by running the amd and autofs daemons, along with editing
the /etc/auto.master file.

However, with the 0.10 version with the same daemons running and an
identical /etc/auto.master file does nothing. No errors are reported, in
fact executing '/etc/init.d/autofs status' reports that the NIS automount
points are active. However, after changing to the automount directories, no
files or directories are visible. The machine is binding to its NIS master
successfully, but I can't seem to fix this problem. Can anyone help?

Here are the automount points in my /etc/auto.master file:

/bio yp:auto.bio
/home yp:auto.home

Thanks!
Ken
