AFAIK, all the known quota problems are fixed in 1.0.1.
Yes, you should be able to just upgrade the userspace RPMs and the
kernel - if you're not sure how to do that, Red Hat has a document
explaining RPM kernel upgrades. The short answer is do "rpm -ivh
<kernel rpm>, make an initrd if you need it, and then edit & re-run
lilo, and reboot.
Some people have reported problems with /dev related issues, since devfs
has been turned off in the 1.0.1 release - I didn't expect this, since
the on-disk /dev should still be intact. Hopefully you won't run into
this.
