Alright. I'll try that. Thanx.

Now another question that I just thought about :

Can I freeze the root ("/") ? (I need that possibility)

And what happens if I try to freeze a dir that's not
it's own partition?

Going to rebuild the thing now to try that though.

Oh yes, I just remembered a thought from someone to
modify GRUB to open using O_DIRECT as well - that might
help.

I'm going to try these things out now.
