just a small question regarding XFS and daily rpm updates..is it
_really_ needed?
I missed the part about the daily RPMS bit. This was about the installer
disks for redhat.
it would be easier to say maintain rpms for major releases i.e major
kernel releases or major XFS changes, rather manage an entire daily rpm
tree aswell... ?
That is what this is about. RPMS are made for security updates, and
releases. Note that a RedHat release does not imply a new SGI installer
release. It is more done out of the sheer demand for it.
The daily RPMS are provided by people other then SGI and are considering
making weekly RPMS instead. Even bi-weekly would catch most linus kernel
releases.

Every program has two purposes one for which
it was written and another for which it wasn't
I use the last kind.
