I've run into resistance to using XFS because your only options for rescue
are to build a boot CD, or set up an initrc.img to boot from.
It would be far easier if an XFS enabled kernel would fit on a floppy.
There is a link to a patch in the faq for mkbootdisk under redhat to make
it format floppies larger. I use these larger floppy's myself to. YMMV.
make sure to specify /dev/fd0u1680 so it gets formatted larger.
