Recently, I have been researching the leading research centers in
biotechnology in the world and the name of Silicon Graphics
BioInformatics keeps coming up as a top project in the center of
bioinformatics.
I am currently in my last year of engineering school in biotechnology in
Marseille (ESIL) and I really want to join a team such as yours. Really
interested in drug design, molecular modeling and construction of
softwares, I am looking for a six month training course (February-August
2002 or more) focused on bioinformatics.
My training as an engineer in biotechnology taught me a solid background
in cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry and biotechnological
processes, construction of database, biostatistics, programming,
molecular modeling, blasts.
Moreover, during my assistantship in the team of Henrissat at the french
National Centre of Scientific Research, I was part of a team responsible
for the development of a cartographic tool for the completely sequenced
microorganisms.
In addition to my knowledge in laboratory technics, I have
communication, bioinformatics (Lab-on-Chip) and project management
skills.
As well as learning from your training, I am sure that can make a
valuable contribution to Silicon Graphics BioInformatics.
