Hi Seth..
I used to do that with prior versions. My problem
is this..
"I cannot get to a text mode.. to even
do the "linux single" command..."
When SGI XFS boots up.. then.. there are three choices
and thats it.. period.. When you enter the grub
password, it then offers you some more choices..
but nothing to boot in a single mode.
Thanks
Glow

Hi..
Can anyone give me a quick link to a procedure
to reset the root password ?
I used the following command in Redhat 7.0; but
the same doesnt work in SGI XFS 1.02.
-----------------
Ctrl-Alt-Del : Reboot the machine
Press Tab : When LILO prompt shows up
linux single : At the boot : prompt; let the m/c
boot
passwd : At the bash # prompt
Ctrl-Alt-Del : To reboot the machine
-----------------
I do have console and the grub passwords.
Thanks in advance for any help :) Appreciate it
It should work normally, I used the same procedure
before. What error do
you get?
Cheers
