I don't know about Oracle but some software tries to set attributes on
directories or files on ext2 to let it write synchronously (+S flag?)
and refuses to run o other filesystems on Linux. So if a software
depends on that kind of operation while installing it should be possible
to install on ext2 and then migrate to XFS later.
