Hello,

According to your subject line, you are using Mandrake 8.1? If I'm not mistaken, Mandrake 8.1 ships with a newer kernel than what XFS 1.01 was targeted at. I think you're better off staying with the Mdk 8.1 kernel, or if you *must* upgrade, consider the kernel packages on Cooker. I believe someone on the list mentioned that they've updated to 2.4.12 on Cooker.

First of all, Imust say XFS is the best performing file system I have used for Linux thus far. I have been using Jounalising Reiser FS, but that gave me some issues after crashes, XFS has been through alot in its short introduction to my system but it hasnt failed ever.

I was wondering if it is worth it to upgrade to 1.01 from 1.0.

and if so how would one go about doing that, I am an experienced linux user, but not experienced in installing or upgrading a new file system over an allready implimented one.

Thank you
