making modules

hi..

   using Redhat 7.1 and installed XFS/redhat with the new ISO file from
freshmeat.net and I seem to be having some trouble compiling my kernel
when coming to "make modules"....normallly things I've done in the past
that worked fine are producing errors now....is this an issue with XFS
somehow that I've overlooked in the documentation if so can you point me
to it....if not what is the sollution :)
