The Mandrake people have released 8.1 beta but unfortunately without
support for the XFS filesystem. They included ReiserFS, JFS and ext3.
It's sad to realize that my favorite distributions RedHat and Mandrake
seem not to include XFS support in their next releases.
What is the problem with XFS? I know it's difficult to patch the kernel
if you already apply tons of patches anyway. But beside that it's one of
the best filesystems our planet has. It's GPL and very well integrated
into Linux. What do they want more. If they want their distributions to
be enterprise ready, LVM and XFS are a must. I hate to say this but even
win2k has it already (I mean 'dynamic disks' and journaling filesystem).
I hope they will change their mind and include XFS as well.

What do you think about it?
