Hello Ragnar,

You wouldn't per chance be using an Adaptec-39160  or Adaptec-29160?  If
so try the aic7xxx_old instead of the aic7xxx.

I've had the same problems and no lockups since I started using the old
drivers.
(I'm still crossing my fingers though ;-)
