Reference point here, no this won't work; the modules contained in the
stage2 of one
release will not match up with the kernel on the boot floppy of another
release.

BTW  I'm maintaining a full install dir at
ftp://ftp.thebarn.com/SGI/install
I can be used to do ftp installs or copied locally to do nfs installs.
