Hi,
I have compiled the source on my Debian/i686 box and had some
problems with 'ld'. The linking failed.
There are some lines in ./arch/i386/boot/Makefile like
bootsect: bootsect.o
$(LD) -Ttext 0x0 -s -oformat binary -o $@ $<
^^^^^^^^
I use GNU ld version 2.11.90.0.1 (with BFD 2.11.90.0.1)
I think ld option '-oformat' has changed to '--oformat'.
After changing this I had no problems to compile the source.
So perhaps this helps somebody with the same problem ...
bye Ralf
