Yup.  I just figured this out.  I used the instructions in the
installtion caveats to mount up / and /boot (by creating sda1 and sda5
block devs with major #8) and do a mkinitrd.

I am now able to boot my machine, but I can't access my CDROM because
there are no 'sdc' devices.  Is this fixed by using the 'modules.devfs'
file?
