In fact PCMCIA runs fine together with devfs now. I recompiled the kernel
(to apply the patch from Eric) and got problems with pcmcia related
modules. Read the PCMCIA docs. After switching kernel support for pcmcia
OFF, the kernel compiled fine. Compiling and installing pcmcia-cs-3.1.23
made pcmcia work.
