Unfortunately, the kernel & initrd are probably too big for a floppy. 
You can take a look at it on another machine, but my guess is it's 100%
full.  We should probably add a caveat for this, or even disable the
boot floppy creation for now...

You can still use the CD you burned as a rescue disc, just type "linux
rescue" at the boot: prompt and you'll be in single user mode.  You can
then mount up your partitions and try re-configuring lilo.

You will probably need to create your own devices - take a look in /tmp
and see what's there.

That's actually one for Red Hat, I guess - did you have this choice in
their standard 7.0 installer?

Yes, the X configuration is known to be buggy... the same thing happened
on my laptop.

This is a snapshot of Red Hat's anaconda, so there are all sorts of bugs
waiting to be discovered...
