Actually, I was running xfs_check and xfs_repair, I just called them fsck
because that's what they do. Unfortunately, since I very much depend on
the OpenGL performance, I cannot go without the NVidia drivers.
The damage definitely stays after a reboot, it is nothing cache-related.
If it is of any help, I have uploaded the output of xfs_check and xfs_repair
