I have the same bug on Linux 2.4.24 with XFS 1.3:
When I do a lot of activity on an XFS partition (like 'find /mnt/xfs') it gets
stuck (D), and additional processes start getting stuck on DiskIO, that are un-
related.
Once I kill the 'find' - slowly locks are released.
I printed out a backtrace, and found the tasks to be stopped at __down_failed.
