I have managed to replicate the problem on a 2.6.4 kernel on our backup storage
server. I log into the server an run 2x copies of "quot" and a copy of
xfs_fsr, and at least one of the processes seems to hang.

What I am having trouble doing is getting kdb to work. I'm assuming that the
debugging options that are in the standard 2.6.4 kernel work, but I can't
figure out what I need to do to enter kdb, or how to use it when I am there.

Can you please point me at some documentation on how to use kdb, and let me
know if there is a patch that I need to apply to 2.6.4 to get it working. I
should be able to provide the necessary info if I can get kdb working.
