I'm looking to do a fresh format and install of Fedora Core 1
(previous OS is non-Linux) but would like to use 2.6 kernel (if
possible) and XFS on most of my partitions but not quite sure the
best way to approach this. I've heard that Fedora Core 2 will have
XFS support built-in to the stock kernel, would trying to get that be
my best bet or instead use SGI's patch for the FC1 kernel
(2.4.22-1.2115.nptl at
ftp://oss.sgi.com/projects/xfs/download/testing/FC1/). I'd prefer
not to use a CVS build of XFS code considering it *is* a filesystem
we're talking about here, unless it is extremely stable. My original
plan is to follow TLDP's tutorial on Linux+XFS
(http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Linux+XFS-HOWTO/index.html) - do a fresh
install with ext3, compile new kernel, and migrate filesystems over.
Any suggestions/advice?
