This is wierd. After the oom killer ran out of processes to kill, the slabinfo
shows that xfs has dropped all the way to
bash-2.05a# cat /proc/slabinfo | grep xfs
xfs_dqtrx 7 40 192 2 2 1
xfs_dquots 16 24 324 2 2 1
xfs_acl 0 0 304 0 0 1
xfs_chashlist 242 606 16 3 3 1
xfs_ili 647 672 140 24 24 1
xfs_ifork 0 0 56 0 0 1
xfs_efi_item 0 0 260 0 0 1
xfs_efd_item 0 0 260 0 0 1
xfs_buf_item 50 78 148 3 3 1
xfs_dabuf 0 202 16 0 1 1
xfs_da_state 0 0 336 0 0 1
xfs_trans 10 39 588 2 3 2
xfs_inode 2430 2440 368 243 244 1
xfs_btree_cur 0 29 132 0 1 1
xfs_bmap_free_item 0 0 12 0 0 1
Any hints would be appreciated.
I'm currently creating 800000 files and doing a tree of the entire filesystem,
and it seems happy. The only problem is that before it recovered, it ate so much
memory that the oom killer killed all of the usefull processes.
