Hi all,
I used the RedHat installer with XFS provided on the
download site to install XFS on my system along with
RH 7.3. I did not compile my kernel did NOT do any
changes at all. Just used the default options. This is
the first time i am trying out XFS so did not mess
around.
At the end, when the time to create bootdisk came the
Installer consistently failed initially i attributed
this to the floppies i had.
When the system booted up then i tried to create the
bootdisk again using mkbootdisk 2.4.**** but it failed
saying unable to locate the root partition.
The fstab had LABEL defined for the partitions which
RH uses upon removing the LABEL=/ with the proper
/dev/hda* mkbootdisk started working. But i tried the
same thing on an RH 7.3 m/c and mkbootdisk works even
with the LABEL=/.
Anybody there who could point me to the right
direction????
Sorry for the long mail.
Thanks in advance,
Arindam Dey
