Whilst we're talking patches: I have a drm/agpgart patch that restores accelerated OpenGL to the XFree that comes with RedHat7.1. Somewhere along the line (>2.4.7?) the Linus kernel moved to too-new DRM version and (at least on my G400Max) XFree then turned all hardware acceleration off :-/ This patch was distilled from 2.4.12-ac1 and gives you a config option of a XFree 4.0.* (RedHat 7.1) or XFree 4.1.* style DRM. The patch applies fine to 2.4.12-xfs and 2.4.13-pre*-xfs. http://www.cita.utoronto.ca/~rjh/drm/ Works for me - YMMV. cheers, robin |
