These are both works in Progress, Jens Axboe at Suse has been working
on the ide kiobuf code, not quite sure where it is at the moment, md
is in the hands of Martin Peterson at LinuxCare. There are issues in both
code bases - for example md has always worked just by redirecting fixed
size requests to the correct devices - introducing kiobufs into its
I/O path means it has to cope with variable sized requests and do things
like request splitting.
If Jens and Martin are reading this perhaps they could comment some more
on where things are at.
