Now that ext3 and XFS use the same ACL interfaces, as I understand it, the plan is to have a single set of ACL tools which will be compatible with both filesystems. What this means on the packaging front is a single set of packages that will support ext3 and XFS. I may be wrong here, but this is what appears to be underway (based on mailing list discussion). Thus, once the common ACL tools are in place it would simply be a matter of updating the relevant package files. |
