This is intriguing. My experience is that XFS is _always_ faster when
dealing with large files (create, write, read, delete). It might be
slightly slower with lots of small files, but not with a few large ones.
Perhaps your filesystem is terribly fragmented.

Many would-be screenwriters seem to have the impression that they can
