Hm, well, there should be at least a message stating that it's shutting
down - and probably which file called the shutdown.  These problems can
be hard to debug, but the more information the better...

As a last resort, you might try the -L option in xfs_repair, which will
zero out your log - but you will lose information this way:

       -L     Force Log Zeroing.  Forces xfs_repair to  zero  the
              log   even   if  it  is  dirty  (contains  metadata
              changes).  When using this  option  the  filesystem
              will likely appear to be corrupt, and can cause the
              loss of user files and/or data.

Before you do this, you might wait to see if anyone else chimes in with
other ideas, but I'm afraid I don't have a better one at the moment.
