I'm using Grub. No problem.

I have this distribution installed on an AthlonXP 1800 machine, MSI
nForce motherboard, IDE drives. Besides plain desktop applications, i do
a lot of video stuff on this machine (MPEG conversions, video editing,
etc), and that means moving multi-gigabyte files around while the CPU is
at 100%.
No problem until now.
