Hello!
I've got 2 questions regarding:
cobalt driver:
I've been experimenting quite unexpected troubles with sgi cobalt graphic
adapter driver (sgi visual station 320) following an upgrade to Windows 2000
professional+sgi ssk, and I would like to know if installing linux+sgi
propack 1.2 is going to solve that one.
performance:
It seems W2k doesn't detect the full amount of ram I've got. First it
substracts the memory pre-allocated for sgi graphics system, and goes even
further: 512 physical ram equals 339 available ram for the OS.
I guess that makes for some performance loss there.
Does Linux detect ram memory better?
Does it better understand SGI graphics system?
Thanks for your time!
Kind Regards,
caroline
