(Forgive my newbiness to Raw I/O...) >From the FAQ: "How do I use the RAW I/O Enhancements? First, you must enable the raw disk I/O enhancements with the CONFIG_RAW parameter, second, you must create the special device nodes for the character special disk devices, preserving the major/minor number relationship between the block and character special devices. " I have compiled a 2.2.13 kernel patched with the sgi+straw patch applied. I am able to do a ls on /dev/raw. My question is "now what?" How do I map the devices so I can get the raw i/o speeds? Thanks! -- Corey Thompson |
