"Building SGI compiler"

Hi

   When I tried to compile C code using the SGI compiler, I received
error messages in the assembly stage. The question is:

   Without NUE, can the SGI compiler generate code?

   I tried -S switch, the compiler runs through and generates .s 
file smoothly.
