Dear Pro64 support team,

Sorry to bother you all. I want to install pro64 from source code following the instructions of README.src. However, I CANNOT build Fortran 90 Front-End with my own f90 compiler. I noticed a comment in phase of building mfef90:

¡°NOTE: mfef90 does not build at this time because it needs an IA-32 version of f90 to compile parts of itself. While SGI has a prototype of such a compiler, it is good enough only to compile what is needed and thus we are not making it available. Mfef90 contains only code developed by SGI.¡±

Also I have seen the following comment in the Prerequisites:

¡°We also used g77 for compiling parts of the Fortran 90
front-end. The version that we used was:
  GNU F77 version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)
  (i386-redhat)¡±

I have some doubts on these two comments. So I want to know the following question:

1. Can I build mfef90 through source code? If yes, on which phase will it be built?
2. Can I use other IA32 version f90 compiler to build Fortran 90 Front-End except the unavailable prototype compiler of SGI? If yes, can you recommend one for me?
3. What is the relationship between GNU F77 version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release) (i386-redhat) and SGI prototype f90 compiler?

Thanks in advance!

Sincerely yours,
Hu Yanjun
