Problems compiling spec95

There is some especial configuration for vortex and jpeg to make it compile
and run successfully? I'm  having problems running jpeg when compiled with
-O0. -O1 and -O2 works fine. Vortex doesn't compile.
I'm using nue version 1.0-1 and PRO64 version 0.01.0-12.ia64
