This is fixed in current pcp dev branch, expected to release with pcp-3.8.3.
Only other thing was this part of the original report ...

That command line option and associated functionality is still there, not sure
what was meant by this? (hopefully just an oversight?) If it remains an
issue, please open a new bug for that one, thanks!
