I think everyone would agree it's better to have one repository for
the base package, thanks.

Sorry for the delay, I've been on vacation for (more than) the last ten days
and will be traveling in the USA for the next three weeks. Basically that means
I'm too swamped with other stuff to be an effective gatekeeper. So this task has
been delegated to Max Matveev <makc@xxxxxxx>. Please send your patches to the
list for review. Max will be able to provide a much better reponse than me
in this role.
