not specifically. There is documentation for the API in PMAPI(3)
and you can use the -D1 flag to get a verbose dump of PDU
traffic between a client and pmcd, e.g. try this:

        pminfo -f -D1 kernel.all.load

But otherwise you'll have to read the source. Look in 
/usr/include/pcp/{pmapi.h,impl.h} and below src/libpcp/src
