    build: add -n option to debian GZIP set, for deb packages
    
    Otherwise lintian package-check warnings result due to the
    presence of timestamps in generated gzip files.

    containers: ensure paths to pmlogger/pmie logfiles exist
    
    In the exciting world of containers and bind mounts, not
    everything is always as it seems.  Fix tested by mgoodwin
    to resolve a failure to start pmlogger/pmie containers in
    the new world order of logging in the pmcheck scripts.
