Hi,

We use the attached patch on pmlogger_daily to prevent daily log
merging. We do this so we can use rsync throughout the day to backup
the logs and not take a big hit syncing the daily log once a day. Is
this something that would be acceptable or is there a better way to do it?

Martins,

I want to expand the -M option to mean, ...
- do not rewrite with pmlogrewrite, and
- do not merge with pmextract via pmlogger_merge, and
- do not rename with pmlogmv [I just committed a change for this optimization]

Does that match your intent/hope?

It is easier to outlaw all 3 when -M is specififed, rather than just the merge case alone. And any of the above will mess with your rsync.

Lemme know.
