I had to make the following changes to build pcp-2.2.2-11 RPMs in RedHat
8.0:
In file ./configure.in add lines
dnl check if the rpmbuild program is available
test -z "$RPMBUILD" && AC_PATH_PROG(RPMBUILD, rpmbuild, /usr/bin/rpmbuild)
rpmbuild=$RPMBUILD
AC_SUBST(rpmbuild)
before the line
dnl check if the rpm program is available
In file ./src/include/builddefs.in add line
RPMBUILD = @rpmbuild@
In file ./build/rpm/GNUmakefile change
$(RPM) -ba --rcfile rpm-$(RPM_VERSION).rc \
to
$(RPMBUILD) -ba --rcfile rpm-$(RPM_VERSION).rc \
RedHat has discontinued the rpm -ba option so the rpmbuild utility must be
used. I believe these changes will work for previous versions of RedHat
since rmp -ba was using rpmbuild.
