Hi all,
It's been a busy few weeks since the last release, and shiny
new PCP and PCP GUI packages are now available for download!
This PCP release introduces some packaging changes, and the
3.8 -> 3.9 version number change is to reflect this. There
are new rpm and deb packages for pcp-conf, pcp-manager and
pcp-webapi. This separates configuration from the libraries
(primarily for multilib support) and some daemons have moved
into their own little packages.
There is new Python module documentation in the Programmers
Guide, and several new pmchart features and fixes - so it is
well worth upgrading everything, right away. :^)

-> Save View menu option this plot wildcard was not being
preserved.
- Extend the wildcard set for plot legends - full and short
variants for instances, metrics and hosts now exist, with
the heuristics used for shortening described in pmchart(1).
- Update pmchart Metric Search dialog to display hosts also,
for all matching search results.
- Add to the UI and search logic to allow regular expression
matching on host names, in addition to metric and instance
names.
- Improve pmchart metric selection with multiple hosts - for
this case, do not expand all namespace trees all at once,
it results in UI clutter. Just show the top level hosts,
initially, so the user can choose where navigation starts.
