I have an open bug inside SGI that says:

"The mmv (memory-mapped values) PMDA should be migrated to use
ReplacePmnsSubtree (pv:980089) to avoid potential namespace corruption issues."

I'm not sure if this is still a problem for the mmv PMDA, but if it is
perhaps a bugzilla bug should be opened.
