It probably says it somewhere, but even better would be to just fix
the thing.  I've tagged pcp-gui-1.5.0 and will start building binaries
shortly ... so, hopefully soon we'll never see such issues again!

Hmm.  I've only ever used the SDK, but would've expected the framework
to work.  Anyway ... the new pcp-gui is the way to go, I'll send mail to
pcp-announce as soon as there are binaries up for download - I recommend
you download & use that as it wont have this problem.
