I'm getting ready to release pcp 2.6.0. Current snapshot in available
as 2.5.99 from ftp://oss.sgi.com/projects/pcp/download/dev.

Here is the list of changes since 2.5.0 - numbers are SGI Bugworks
numbers and provided for reference purposes only:

    - 947510 - don't try to write into the string returned by strerror
    - 947781 - add functions to implement asynchornous communication
with pmcd and functions to implement application main loop
    - 948548 - Fix buffer overflow in linux proc_pmda. Found by Ken McDonell.
    - 948551 - Update pcp configure and build infrastructure
    - 948799 - Move telnet-probe to oss part of pcp
    - 952664 - pcp-open rpm "provides" too much - make it provide only
the same version as base pcp
    - 952932 - pcp-open RPM requires libpcp.so.2 but doesn't provide it
    - 953015 - Promote libpcp_pmc to DSO
    - 953875 - Miscellaneous source tree nitpicks by Ken McDonell.
    - 953876 - Use swap.pagesin/pagesout instead of swap.in/.out in pmstat
    - 954035 - Update macosx build infrastructure and port to MacOSX 10.4
Code provided by Michael Werner <mtw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>.
    - 954133 - PCP 2.6.0 open-source release
    - 954165 - pmdumptext reports wrong timestamps with sub-second time
               intervals
    - 954203 - pmnscomp generates bogus binary pmns files on little-endian
               32 bit machine

Please give it a go and report any problems to me. If there is no
major drama, I'm planning to cut 2.6.0 sometime next week.
