Since no good deed should go unpunished - could you cast an eyeball or
or two over the commit below as well?  (either now or later, no rush - I
am pretty sure it's nice, simple & correct, but since its pmlogger...)

    pmlogger: add support for running in local context mode
    
    Adds support to the pmlogger utility for running without a
    local pmcd process.  Test qa/948 is added to exercise this.
    
    This is in the context of RHBZ #1129539.
